i am not sure what overlooked films means exactly...
on one hand there is this idea of popularity and on the other an idea of likability, so with that in mind i made my choices based on movies that had an element of horror attached but were not generally considered 'horror' movies per se:

the stepford wives (the original)- i consider this film to be a 'sophisticated' zombie movie.

beloved- i know, i know but technically it is a ghost story. i enjoy the idea of 'hungry ghost' i.e. a spirit so jaded that its wants and needs are all consuming and destructive.

they live and lifeforce- 2 sci-fi/horror movies that just didn't make it to 'classic' status, but remain tender in my heart.

Would anyone agree with me that The Exorcist III (Legion) was overlooked. It seems to me that many people haven't seen it...Possible due to Heretic.....

There are two sequels to The Exorcist, but did you know there are two prequels?

Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) with only Linda Blair, Max von Sydow (in flashbacks) and Kitty Winn. Richard Burton as Fr. Philip Lamont. Related Burton films: Night of the Iguana (Rev. T. Lawrence Shannon), Doctor Faustus, Equus?

The Exorcist III (1990) second sequel; dir. William Peter Blatty, based on his book "Legion," the sequel to Exorcist; the film ignored the events of Exorcist II; George C. Scott as Lt. Kinderman, and Ed Flanders as Fr. Joseph K. Dyer.

I recall the beginning of the movie was gruesome for me.

I liked "Dominion" so much better than "The Exorcist : The Beginning".

Another overlooked Full Moon production is Dark Angel: The Ascent (1994). I thought it was entertaining.

"Tired of torturing the damned in Hell, an idealistic she-devil heads for the world above to begin serving her own brand of justice."

An amazing scene is when she rips the spine out of a bad guy. Never saw that before! Pretty good FX.
